In every package
Every booking at 5959 West, hourly or all-inclusive, comes with the room already equipped. This is the part that usually appears as separate rental invoices elsewhere.
There is no required vendor list and no food and beverage minimum. Bring the caterer, DJ, photographer and decorator you want.
Choosing a package
Choose venue only if you already have a decorator you trust, or your celebration is short and simple. You get the room and everything listed above, and you handle the styling.
Choose all-inclusive if you would otherwise be renting centerpieces, backdrops, charger plates and cake-table decor from somewhere else. Our in-house designer builds the room around your theme, and you deal with one vendor instead of four.
A quick way to decide: get a quote for the decor you want, then compare it to the difference between the two prices. If the decor quote is higher, the package is the cheaper evening — and a great deal less to manage the week of.
Booking and timing
Two deposits are involved, and they do different things. A $1,000 booking deposit holds your date — it is non-refundable, and we say so plainly rather than burying it. Separately, a $500 security deposit is refundable and is returned within 14 days of your event, provided there is no damage and you finish within your contracted hours.
Book the hours you will actually use. This is the one thing we ask every client to get right. Your rental window covers setup, the event and breakdown — so a reception running 7pm to midnight with a decorator who needs three hours beforehand is an eight-hour booking, not five. Our contract states that running past your contracted time forfeits the $500 security deposit, so if you are unsure, add the hour when you book rather than on the night — an extra booked hour costs less than a lost deposit.
Most families book 6 to 12 months ahead. Spring Saturdays go first, since they compete with weddings, proms and graduations. A Friday, Sunday or weekday date is the easiest way to lower the cost of the same room.
A ceremony on site is a $1,000 add-on, which covers flipping the room from ceremony to reception while your guests are at cocktail hour, and includes a two-hour rehearsal.
